We love Reiki and believe deeply in its ability to promote natural healing and a sense of wellbeing and relaxation. This type of hands on healing has been around for thousands of years and Reiki was developed from these ancient healing techniques in the late 1800’s by a Japanese man called Dr Mikao Usui. It is a form of natural energy healing that works on the auric field of the body to balance, harmonise and unblock the flow of energy. It works on the belief that emotional or mental trauma and dis-ease is manifest in the body as trapped energy and that by encouraging the flow of energy, the body, mind and spirit can start to heal itself.

During a treatment you will sit or lie down fully clothed. We place our hands over various energy centres in your body, the chakras, and channel Reiki energy into your auric field. Reiki translated means Universal (Rei) Life force (Ki). It is this flow of Reiki energy that enables the healing process to begin.  You may experience tingling sensations in any part of your body, warmth, cold, see colours or images behind closed eyes.  The experiences during the session are distinctly individual, as it depends on why you’re having the treatment and what the therapist has proposed for your healing.  Reiki is a very gentle, yet powerful form of energy healing and continues to work through the body after the treatment has finished. 

If you haven’t visited us before we will invite you for an initial treatment that includes a detailed consultation.  If you decide that Reiki is something you would like to continue, we advise having four treatments a week or two apart followed by monthly treatments for ongoing maintenance.  You may find that you wish to learn Reiki for yourself so you can continue self-healing at home and we offer attunements in Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 to enable you to do this. Because Reiki is an energy therapy that knows no boundaries in distance and time, we can also offer you a Distant Reiki Healing, where we connect over zoom or WhatsApp video to send you your healing. It is a different experience to an in-person treatment but no less effective in terms of the benefits you receive. Its perfect if you are unable to get out of the house or live too far away to come to us in person. We link up over video chat to do the treatment and all you need to do is find somewhere comfortable to lie down and relax whilst we send distant Reiki healing to you.

 

In Crystal Reiki, crystals are used with reiki to prompt the mind, body and spirit to heal.  It makes sense, given that crystals have been used for eons to heal illness and ailments.  Some reiki practitioners say using crystals is like having another pair of hands.  Reiki practitioners often have their own way of working – some may place crystals around you whereas others will place crystals on you during the healing session.  Larger crystals may be placed under the couch.  They will choose the crystals depending on your needs; for instance, yellow stones may help balance the solar plexus chakra whereas blue opal or chrysocola may help balance the throat chakra.   After the session, the therapist can tell you what crystals they’ve used and will recommend which crystals to keep at home to continue your self-healing.
